GLEN ROBERT WRAY - Mortuary

Glen Robert Wray was born June 24, 1891 near Perry, Dallas county, Iowa, and departed this life at his home north of Winterset, Feb. 16, 1920, at the age of 28 years, 8 months and 23 days.

He lived with his parents in Dallas county until they moved to Madison county in the spring of 1907. Shortly after this move there came into his life, his first great grief, the loss of his mother. He lived with and farmed for his father until November, 1914, when he was married to Miss Catharine Chamberlain.. He continued living on his father's farm, his father moving to Winterset in the spring of 1918. To this happy union was born one daughter, Irene, age two and one half years.

He was a kind and loving husband, son and brother. Although not very strong, he always worked hard, though never accomplishing enough to suit him. The attractions of social life had no pleasure for him, compared with those of his own fireside. Although never making a profession in the religious life, just before the end came he told his wife he would meet her in Heaven.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife and daughter, his father, two sisters: Mrs. Clyde Shaffer and Gladys, at home, and a large number of friends.

On Tuesday afternoon, two neighbor boys, Glen and Willis Clague, held a short service of song and prayer at the home, after which the body was brought to the Ramsey undertaking parlors, where a short funeral service was held on Wednesday morning by Rev. Jackson Giddens, and the remains were then laid to rest in the Winterset cemetery.
