Death of Wm. Austin Hunt

Wm. Austin Hunt, a former resident of Des Moines, died Friday, November 9th, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. W. Mueller, in Jefferson township. Mr. Hunt had lived in Des Moines until recently, when he came to reside with his daughter. He had been suffering with heart trouble for some time, but had only been seriously ill the past month.

Mr. Hunt, the son of Peter and Mary Hunt, was born February 21, 1861, near Churchville. In early childhood his parents moved to Des Moines, where his father was a pioneer cooper. He was educated in the parochial and public schools of Des Moines.

His marriage to Miss Emma Creason of Madison county took place in 1885. They were the parents of three children: Mrs. E. W. Mueller, Mrs. W. B. Fowler of Des Moines, and Dr. Gerald Hunt of Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral services were conducted in Des Moines, Monday afternoon, by the Rev. Joseph Howard of Highland Park, and Dr. Wadding of the Park Avenue Presbyterian church. Interment was in the Glendale cemetery.
