W. H. Garner who formerly lived in Winterset died in Fort Madison Friday, heart failure being the cause of his death. For a number of years he was guard in the penitentiary. His brother George left Friday to attend the funeral which occurred Tuesday.

Word was received here last Friday that Will Garner who has been a guard at the Ft. Madison Penitentiary was dead. His brother, Geo. Garner left for Ft. Madison Friday night. The funeral occurred Wednesday. Mr. Garner will be remembered here by the old settlers, having lived here in his younger days.
