G. W. Klingensmith, county Recorder, died at his home Saturday afternoon. He had been sick for some time but there were no thoughts of his immediate death until a few days before that time. Mrs. Klingensmith was in Kansas visiting during the greater part of his sickness and knew nothing of it until telegraphed to come home, but she did not reach his bedside until after consciousness had left him. It is very sad indeed and the grief stricken wife has the deepest sympathy of the whole community.
The funeral took place at the M. E. church Sunday afternoon and after the services it was found impossible to proceed to the cemetery with the remains on account of a terrific rain storm which continued throughout the entire night. The funeral procession moved and the body was interred Monday morning at 10 o'clock.
Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
