Graveside services for Olive Elizabeth Brown, 97, will be held Sat., Oct. 5 at Ames Municipal Cemetery. She died of heart failure Sat., Sept 28 at Riverside Manor Care Center, Ames, where she was a resident.
She was born September 2, 1894 to Marion Frances and Permelia Elizabeth (Kingery) Alexander in Winterset and was raised here. She married Merlyn Forest Brown in Cedar Rapids in 1930. She was an Ames resident for 60 years, had retired from Younkers after working there 50 years, was a member of the Younkers 20-year club and a charter member of Rebekah Lodge of Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Two nephews, Marion Stewart and Billie Stewart, and a sister, Gladys Stewart, also preceded her in death. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mildred Judge of Ames and three nieces. A grand niece, Marsha Stewart of Creston also survived her.
Stevens Memorial Chapel, Ames, is in charge of arrangements.
