Jennie White was born in Madison county, Iowa, June 4, 1880 and died March 8, 1922. Her girlhood was spent in the country near Winterset.
She was married to Lee Purcell April 17, 1905. She attended the Baptist church in Winterset and tried to keep the children in school.
Last year she became a member of the Pocket Testament League, of which she remained a faithful member, reading her chapter every day, when her health permitted. She was a faithful wife and mother, and a friend beloved by those who knew her.
She was the mother of nine children, four of whom have preceeded her to the other world. Those remaining are: Mrs. Lucy Waltz of near Winterset, and Gladys, Bernice, Lonnie and Carroll all at home.
Funeral services were held from the home on Friday afternoon, Rev. G. D. Rogers officiating.
