Boyd Iiams of rural Murray died Sunday, Sept. 14, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola at the age of 77. He had lived in Clarke County most of his life.
Born on July 2, 1903, in Madison County, he was the son of Arthur and Florence Kirk Iiams. He was united in marriage to Daisy Ruth Woosley on May 9, 1925, at Chariton. She preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 1974. A farmer, Mr. Iiams had lived in Clarke county most of his life.
Survivors include three children, Darlene I. Morris of Des Moines, Emma Creveling of Osceola and Dwayne of Murray; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dale of Murray and Nathan of Mollolla, Ore.; and two sisters, Velma Gibbons of Kress, Texas and Thelma Thurman of Kearney, Neb. He was also preceded in death by an infant child, his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17 at the Murray Church of Christ with burial at the Union Cemetery near Murray. Watts-Lindsay Funeral Home in Murray was in charge of arrangements.

Page 2, Columns 6 & 7William Boyd Iiams was born July 2, 1903 in Madison County, Iowa, the son of Arthur Iiams and Florence Kirk Iiams. He died September 14, 1980 at the Clarke County Hospital. Boyd received his education in Madison County, Iowa. On May 9, 1925 he was united in marriage to Ruth Woosley at Chariton, Iowa. He farmed in Clarke County most of his life. To this union, six children were born: Ester Pearle, Cecil Nelson, Harold Wayne, who died in infancy, Darlene, Emma, Dwayne.
He is survived by his children: Darlene Morris and husband, Merrill of Des Moines; Emma Creveling and husband, Robert of Osceola; Dwayne and wife, Beatrice Iiams of Murray.
Also two brothers and two sisters: Dale Iiams of Murray; Nantan Iiams of Mololla, Oregon; Thelma Thurman of Kearney, Nebraska; Velma Gibbons of Kriss, Texas; mother-in-law, Emma K. Smith of Indianola, Iowa; six grandchildren: Ron Morris, Carol Jones, Pat Courtney, Lynn Crevelling, Julie Halls, Angela Iiams and five great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; three children, father, mother, two brothers, Lauren and Everett and two sisters, Vella and Ethel.
Funeral services were held September 17 at the Murray Church of Christ at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Walter Williams and Rev. Randy Allison officiating. Interment was in Union Cemetery near Murray.
