Graveside services for Wilbur McMichael, 70, Ft. Dodge, Kan., who died May 23 at the Kansas Soldiers Home in Ft. Dodge, Kan., were held at Blair Chapel Cemetery May 27 with the Rev. Don Ludwick of Des Moines officiating.
Born Aug. 1, 1915 in Madison County, he was the son of Thomas and Mary McKinny McMichael. He was a laborer at the State Fairgrounds in Des Moines for a number of years.
Mr. McMichael was an Army veteran of World War II and served in Okinawa and the Pacific theater. He lived for 12 years at Leavenworth, Kan., and was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include brothers, Carl of Truro, Lloyd of Garden City, Kan., and Vernon of Denver, Colo.; stepbrothers, Arthur Neeley of Texas and Harold Neeley of Omaha; and stepsisters, Elizabeth McMichael, Alice Hodges and Celia Tibbets, all of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
