Obituary

John Albert Mills was born March 24, 1894 and died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mills, in the north part of the city, at noon Wednesday, April 27, 1904. John was a sufferer from his birth from a polyps of the nose, and although he had the best medical attendance in the state and adjoining states since he was three months old, they were unable to eradicate the disease, and it finally cause his death indirectly. The immediate cause of his death was spinal meningitis caused by an abscess forming near the brain. He was always patient in his suffering and recently made a number of trips to Des Moines alone to take treatment.

He was the first born of his parents and although they have two boys left to them they cannot make up for the loss of this one.

The funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon from the Christian church, the services being conducted by Rev. E. E. Bennett of the Christian church and Rev. P. H. McDowell of the Baptist church, and the body laid to its last rest in the Winterset cemetery. They sympathy of all is freely extended to the bereaved family.
