SARAH MARSTON DIED ON FRIDAY

Had Been Resident of Jackson Township for 64 Years

Mrs. Sarah Marston, a Madison county resident for 64 years, died Friday, Oct. 10 at a Winterset nursing home. She was 84 years of age.

Mrs. Marston was the former Sarah Caroline Evans, daughter of Hamilton and Anna White Evans. She was born at Olena, Ill. on March 5, 1868.

She was married at Olena on Feb. 9, 1888 to Arthur B. Marston. That same year they came to Madison county, settling on a farm in Jackson township. That farm remained her home for the remainder of her life.

She had been a member of the Pitzer United Presbyterian church since coming here from Illinois.

Mrs. Marston's husband died in 1933. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Lois Streigle of Sigourney, Mrs. Ethel Bond of Cambridge, Mrs. Florence Fife of St. Charles, Mrs. Laura Finney of Earlham, Mrs. Merle Murrell of Ogden, Mrs. Alta Sawhill of Flint, Mich. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Dora Hazlett of Yuma, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and one child of the fifth generation.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Pitzer United Presbyterian church conducted by the Rev. S. C. Picken of Winterset. Burial was made in the Dexter cemetery.
