VIRGIE McCORKLE DIED HERE SUNDAY

Mrs. Virgie L. McCorkle, a well known Madison county resident all her life died Sunday, April 12, at Madison Manor. She was 83 years of age.

Mrs. McCorkle was the former Virgie Leone Severs, daughter of Manford and Olive Leach Seevers. she was born in Madison county Feb. 18, 1887. She was married to Walter A. McCorkle on Nov. 3, 1909. His death occurred in 1967.

Mrs. McCorkle was a member of the West Star Methodist church, and was active in its affairs, including the Women's society for Christian Service.

She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Aaron Howell; a son, Kenneth M. McCorkle; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Leatha Peterson of Moline, Ill.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Ward Young. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
