FUNERAL HELD FOR PATTERSON NATIVE

Dow Pace, a native of Patterson and Crawford township, died Wednesday, March 25th, at a hospital in Long Beach, California, at the age of 85 years. His last illness was of short duration. He lived in Madison county until he moved to Santa Monica, California, 45 years ago.

Lester Dow Pace was born February 12, 1885, a son of George R. and Lucy Scott Pace, at Patterson. Here he was raised and married Rose Phillips of Patterson, and they lived on a farm east of Patterson, until they moved to California. His wife died in 1959.

They were parents of three children, Paul, Mac, and Susie Griep, all of the Los Angeles area, who survive him. He also leaves 5 grandchildren. His only relative in this area, is a niece, Mrs. A. E. (Sue) Null of Winterset.

Funeral services and burial were held at the Woodlawn Mausoleum in Santa Monica.
