Mrs. Mary A. Huston, one of the very early settlers of Madison county died at Peru, Iowa on Monday, August 15th. Funeral services were held at the Christian church of that place on Tuesday. She came to Madison county from Ohio in 1855, 55 years ago. Her husband died before she left Ohio. One son, Jap Huston of Marshalltown, survives. For a number of years, Mrs. Huston made her home with her sister, Mrs. Rachel Reed at whose home she passed away on last Monday at the ripe old age of 83 years.

Mrs. S. B. Winchester and Mrs. Wm. Black of Truro, Mr. and Mrs. Brad Reed of Cromwell Jap Huston of Marshalltown and Geo Foster and wife of Murray, were here to attend the funeral of Mary A. Huston, held at the Christian church on the 16th, conducted by Rev. D. M. Helfenstein of Des Moines.
