Anderson Tullis was born in Wells county, Indiana, on the 7th day of September, 1864. Deceased was the son of George A. and Elizabeth Tullis, and his age at death was 19 years, 4 months and 20 days.
He was always a good and peaceable boy, and as he grew up, showed an earnest interest in the doctrines of the Christian religion. Over four years ago he made a public profession of faith in Christ, united with the church of the Deciples, and was baptized.
For some time his health was delicate, and in October, 1883, he came to Madison county, hoping to be benefited by change of location. But alas! all skill and effort were unavailing, for the destroyer had laid fast hold upon the citadel of life. On the morning of January 27th, he quietly passed away, his freed spirit taking its flight into the "Great Beyond."
His funeral occurred on the 28th, and many were gathered at the residence of John Francis, to assist in the mournful service. The discourse was from Job 14 "If a man die, shall he live again?" and the earnest attention of the audience attested their thoughtful interest. At the close of the services, all repaired to the cemetery at Winterset, where the deceased was interred.
May he rest in peace, "We shall meet in Heaven."
