CHARLES STEVENSON DIED SATURDAY

Charles A. Stevenson, a resident of Winterset since 1955, died Saturday, July 4, at his home at 408 East Benton street. He was 77 years of age.

Mr. Stevenson was born at Knox, Ind., on Aug. 4, 1892, a son of Albert and Nancy Stevenson. He had retired in 1954, after a life spent as a railroad construction worker and switchman, and 15 years as a packer for Des Moines Drug company.

He was a member of the Christian church.

Mr. Stevenson is survived by his wife, the former Eva Clark to whom he was married at Winterset on June 1, 1934. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. June Baker of Valparaiso, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. One daughter, Deloris, died in 1945.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. E. E. Jandebeur, pastor of the First Christian church here. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
