Robert Harold Zika, 78, of Des Moines, passed away September 8, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at Sunset Memorial Chapel in Des Moines. Visitation will be Monday, September 10, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Robert was a retired truck driver. He loved to visit Prairie Meadows and spending winters in Texas.

He is survived by his two daughters, Sandy Lane and Patricia (George) Sanders of Winterset; two stepsons Denny and Jim Atkins; one stepdaughter Pam Elliot; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; five sisters, Darlene Grant, Charlette Pieart, Norma (Duane) Parkins of Des Moines, Marilyn (Donald) Little, and Eva Songer of Winterset; two brothers Gene (Janet) Zika of Altoona and James (Wanita) Zika of Council Bluffs.

Robert is proceeded in death by his wife, Romajean; his parents, Clarence and Alice; three brothers Richard, Melvin, and LeRoy.
