Mrs. Ludlow, mother of ex-sheriff Ludlow, formerly of this county, but now living in Adair county, died suddenly Tuesday night. She hadn't been well for sometime, but no immediate danger was apprehended. She was found dead in her bed.

Mrs. Rachael Ludlow, a notice of whose death was published in our last issue, resided in Lincoln township, this county, instead of Adair county, as erroneously stated. She was seventy-two years of age at the time of her death. She imigrated to Iowa in 1838 and settled in Muscatine county. She came to Madison county in 1856. She was a sister of A. J. Adkinson of this city. The funeral services occurred on Thursday at the Christian Church of this city.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
