FUNERAL HELD FOR GORHAM PALMER

Services were held last Thursday from the Westover Funeral home in Des Moines for Gorham Palmer, former Madison county resident. His death had occurred of a heart attack on Monday, July 6, at Broadlawns hospital in Des Moines. Burial was made in Chapel Hill Gardens cemetery.

Mr. Palmer had moved from Madison county to Des Moines 22 years ago, and had worked at the Hawkeye Pallet company there. He was a native of North Dakota.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Jean Young of Decatur City and Mrs. Nora Mae Auston of Des Moines; four sons, John and Frank Palmer of Des Moines, Kenneth Palmer, who is stationed in Germany with the U.S. army, and Carl Palmer of Carpentersville, Ill. He also leaves two brothers, Clarence Palmer of Earlham and Lawrence Palmer of Van Meter; a sister, Mrs. Hannah Duff of Winterset; 15 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
