Mr. M. Stout, of Winterset, who has been a great sufferer for many years, died last Wednesday and was buried Thursday.

Michijah Stout was born in Clinton county, Ohio, July 6th, 1825. He moved to Iowa in 1848 and to Winterset in 1857.
Enlisted in Company I, 34th Iowa Vol. Infantry in 1862 and served during the war. It was while in active service that he contracted the disease, which many years after caused his death. Through all these years, he was a great sufferer, especially the past few years.
He was converted and united with the M. E. Church in 1851, and carried out in his life the purposes of religion and died in the triumphs of a living faith.
