In memory of :

George B. Davis enlisted in Company F, 4th Iowa Infantry July 4th, 1861. He was born in Indiana and was 24 years of age when he enlisted. He was slightly wounded at the battle in Andersonville from January, 1864, to April 1865. He enlisted as a veteran, and was mustered out with his regiment at the close of the war. He moved from this county to Kansas in 1876. In 1879 he returned on a visit and died of consumption in January of this year, leaving a wife and five children.
