Wednesday, June 16, 1920, page 1Death of GEORGE RUTLEDGE
On Thursday June 10th, the death of George Rutledge took place in the result of a facial cancer, which had developed during the past year, affecting his mouth and lower jaw. Mr. Rutledge endured much suffering during the greater part of his illness.
He was a son of Dr. George M. Rutledge, well known here in the early days of Winterset. With the exception of about four years, Mr. Rutledge's life of 52 years was spent in our town. Mrs. Lee Tidrick is thus left as the only member of the old family.
Rev. George D. Rogers conducted the funeral service on Friday afternoon at Tidrick's undertaking parlors, followed by burial in the Winterset cemetery.
