DAVID FIFE, WINTERSET

David Fife, 71, of Winterset died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were held, Monday August 25, 2007, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with the Rev. Dr. Beverlee Bell officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.

David was born April 16, 1936, in Madison County, Iowa to Bervin and Miriam (Banker) Fife. He married Janice Lee Adkins on September 20, 1969. David was a lifetime resident of Madison County.

David delivered for Clean Towels in the Winterset area for many years and then retired as a farmer.

David graduated from Winterset High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Army.

David is survived by two nieces, many cousins and a host of friends.

Memorials given to the family will be directed to The Birthplace of John Wayne or the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.

David Fife, 71, of Winterset, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. August 25, 2007, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery.

David was born on April 16, 1936, at Madison County, Iowa to Bervin and Mariam (Banker) Fife. He was married on September 20, 1969 at Winterset, Iowa, to Janice Lee Adkins.

He had been a lifetime resident of Madison County. David had delivered for Clean Towels in the Winterset area for many years and then retired as a farmer. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1954 and served in the U.S. Army.

David is survived by his cousins and host of friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Bervin and Mariam Fife; and wife, Janice Fife

Visitation will be Friday from noon to 8 p.m. with relatives receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials given to the family will be directed to John Wayne Birthplace or John Wayne Cancer Foundation.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel and Funeral Services in Winterset.
