RAYMOND PAULLIN OF AFTON DIES

Raymond A. Paullin of Afton died last Wednesday, May 8 at a Creston hospital. He was 76 years of age.

Mr. Paullin was a retired farmer. He was born and spent his early life in Madison county. A son of William H. and Esther Cline Paullin, he was born in this county Oct. 10, 1891. For many years he farmed six miles north of Afton and had lived in Afton the last six years.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Methodist church.

He was married Jan. 7, 1920 to Mable Cramer, who survives him. He also leaves four daughters, Mrs. Howard Scarberry of Los Angeles, Edna Scarberry of Lorimor, Mrs. Clyde Hatsock of Limestone, Maine and Mrs. Robert Saxton of Indianola; a son Frank Paullin of Creston; 20 grandcyildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a brother, Ed Paullin of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Afton Methodist church in charge of Rev. Dwight Bonham of Afton and the Rev. Lee Kivett of Macksburg. Burial was mad in Green Lawn cemetery at Afton.
