CHARLES LENOCKER DIES

Charles Lenocker, well known resident of Dexter, died last Friday, March 14th. Mr. Lenocker had been in poor health for some time, but his death came suddenly after a few days illness with the flu. He was 70 years of age.

Mr. Lenocker was a son of G. F. and Suvilla Drushel Lenocker, and was born in Penn township. He lived with his parents on the home farm until in 1899 when they moved to Dexter, where he has since resided.

Of the eleven children of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Lenocker, only two brothers survive Charles Lenocker; J. H. of Dexter and Guy of Penn township.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church in Dexter at the Methodist church in Dexter Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. by Rev. J. H. Freedline and burial was in the Dexter cemetery.

Two nieces who live in Winterset drove to Dexter Monday to attend his funeral services; Mrs. A. E. Null and Mrs. J. Wyman Wilson.

Obituary of Chas. Lenocker

Chas. Wesley Lenocker, son of G. F. and Savilla Lenocker, was born in Madison Co., Iowa, June 4th, 1870, and passed away at his late home in Dexter, Iowa, Friday, March 14, 1941, aged 70 years, 9 months and 10 days.

He received his education in the Madison county public schools and grew to manhood on his father’s farm where nearly his entire life was lived. He enjoyed farming, which was his vocation all his life. In 1899 he moved to Dexter with his parents and continued to operate his farm south of Dexter. He attended the Penn Center church when health permitted and he was always willing and ready to support the church and Sunday school. During the Christmas season he was among the first ones to contribute to the Christmas treats for the Sunday school.

He lived a clean upright life, was honest in his dealings with his fellowmen. He was a fine neighbor and a good citizen. He loved his home and home life. For a number of years he had been in failing health and bore his suffering with great fortitude. He was well liked by all who knew him. He is survived by two brothers, J. H. and Guy W. Lenocker, of Dexter, Iowa, with many other relatives and friends who will miss this fine character.

His parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters preceded him to the spirit world.

Funeral services were held in the Dexter Methodist church Monday, March 17, at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. J. H. Freedline. Interment in Dexter cemetery.
