JOSEPH MURTAGH DIES AT 51 YEARS

Joseph A. Murtagh, formerly of Madison county, died last Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Corpus Christi, Tex., at the age of 51 years.

Mr. Murtagh was a native of New York City, but lived in Madison county several years, before moving to Corpus Christi in 1957. He was employed there as chief accountant for the Sequola Oil company.

He was married at Winterset on June 15, 1947, to Helen Warren, who survives him.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Jeffrey, aged 20 years, and Patrick, aged 18 years; a daughter, Maureen, aged 13 years; three brothers, John, Raymond and Bernard Murtagh, all of New York; and three sisters, Helen Murtagh and Mrs. Mary Pasternak of New York and Mrs. Elsie Hurley of Los Altos, Calif.

Funeral services were held Friday from Sts. Cyril and Methodius' Catholic church in Corpus Christi. The body was then brought to Winterset where services were held this Monday from Collins Funeral home, conducted by Msgr. John W. Higgins, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic church here and the Rev. E. E. Jandebeur, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
