page 3THE DEAD
We have this week to record the death of two more of our older citizens. Mrs. Nancy Connoran, wife of Edward Connoran, of this city, died on Wednesday, the 7th. Mrs. Connoran had been ill for a couple of months and her death was not unexpected. The cause of her death was old age more than any specific disease.
She was born in Lebanon county, Pennsylvania, in 1805, consequently was 74 years of age. She leaves an aged husband of the same age, and five children: Mrs. Jane Short, James Connoran, Mrs. C. F. Short, Mrs. N. E. Cory, and E. F. Connoran.
Mr. and Mrs. Connoran moved to Madison county in 1856 and have resided here ever since.
She was the mother of eight children--three having preceeded her to the other world. Mrs. Connoran had a large circle of acquaintances and was highly respected by all who knew her. She was, indeed, a very estimable lady. Mr. Connoran has the sympathy of all our people. This aged couple have been married over fifty years and have never been apart a month at a time.
Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
