William Harvey Crosswait was born in Indianola, Iowa, May 25, 1867 and died at his home in Earlham, Iowa, May 6, 1902, aged 34 years, 11 months and 11 days.

He was married to Lydia Jane Peer of Dexter, Iowa, November 3, 1890. He united with the M. E. church at Hickory Grove in 1893. As a boy William was kind and obedient and as a husband affectionate and loving. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, mother, eight brothers and one sister; one brother and sister having gone on before him. The dear ones who are left to mourn the loss of a husband, son and brother indeed have the heartfelt sympathy of all who know them.

Deceased was a member of Earlham camp No. 3162, Modern Woodman, and carried a policy in the order for $1000.

The funeral service was held on last Thursday morning at 10 o'clock in the M. E. church, conducted by Rev. G. E. Nichols at the close of which the remains were conveyed to Dexter and laid at rest in the cemetery there beside his father, who died some some ago. Deceased was followed to his last resting place by a large number of friends and members of the order to which he belongs.
