HOWARD H. CRONK

Howard H. Cronk, the youngest of eight children, was born to Isaac and Martha Cronk at Earlham, Iowa, October 18, 1894. He passed away Wednesday, December 5, 1962 at the Dexter Clinic Hospital after suffering a series of strokes following surgery.

With the exception of seven years he lived in Wisconsin, Howard was a lifelong resident of this vicinity.

He was united in marriage to Iva Mae Francis on March 15, 1916 in Adel. To this union were born four children; Richard Cronk who preceded his father in death in 1950; Robert Cronk of Shirland, Illinois; Mrs. Mary Rhoads of Des Moines; and Mrs. Jean McDonald of Winterset.

He was brought up in the United Brethren church where his father was a minister, but attended the Methodist Church after moving to Dexter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, three sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his wife, three children, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother, Eli Cronk of Grand Rapids, Minnesota and two sisters; Mrs. Elizabeth Zander, Brainerd, Minnesota and Mrs. Arol Coleman of Redfield.

Final rites were held in the Methodist church in Dexter with the Rev. John M. Latta officiating. Evans Funeral Home was in charge of the services with committal in the Dexter cemetery.
