CHARLES S. COOPER

Charles Shirley Cooper was born May 21, 1925 in Chancellor, South Dakota to Charles L. and Eunice P. Cooper. They later moved to a farm in Madison County near Dexter.

Charles began his occupation of farming as a young boy and in his recent years was also self-employed selling CB radios.

In 1963 he married June McLin of Columbus, Ohio. They had two children, Carole Elaine and Charles Timothy. Besides his love for farming, he also enjoyed bowling, baseball and playing the guitar. He dearly loved his two granddaughters, Jennifer Freeman and Stacie Faust.

Charles was preceded in death by his father Charles L. and brother Robert.

Surviving are his wife June; son, Tim; daughter Carole and son-in-law Jake Faust of Menlo; two step-children, Kathy Cooper of Stuart and Randy Cheatwood of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his mother, Eunice Cooper of Dexter, two sisters, Barbara Doherty and Charlene Stone, both of Dallas Center; three brothers, Richard of Grimes, Chet of Dexter and Gary of Dallas Center; two granddaughters and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted February 15, 1986 at the United Methodist Church, Dexter, Iowa with Reverend Robert G. Farr officiating. Norma Tigges furnished organ music. Pallbearers were James Stone, Rusty Faust, Dennis Guttenfelder, Thomas Cooper, Donald Kalbach and Brian Moon. Interment was in Dexter Cemetery, Dexter, Iowa
