DEATH OF LEE JACOBSON

Lee Jacobson died very suddenly of heart failure last Friday afternoon as he was concluding his days work with the section force. The men had put the hand car into the section house and had started up the track when Mr. Jacobson was seen to stagger and immediately fall to the ground. His companions hurried to raise him and he feebly commanded them to take him home as he was very sick. The men carried the lifeless form to the old box car shack, not then realizing that life had already fled. Dr. Irvin arrived in a few minutes but the deceased was beyond earthly help, and artificial respiration was quite unavailing. Death had set its seal upon the great form of the man whose glory had been his strength and vitality.

Mr. Lee Jacobson was born at Femsjo, Sweden, Dec. 18th, 1853. In the spring of 1881 he came to America, coming direct to Des Moines. After two years in that city he moved to this vicinity where he has since resided. For a number of years he was foreman in the Thomson quarry. Mr. Jacobson was married to Sophie Johnson Dec. 5th, 1884 by whom he is survived together with seven children, four having died in infancy.

The funeral service was conducted in the Presbyterian church by the pastor Sunday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment in the North Branch Cemetery.

Mrs. Jacobson and family wish to thank all friends and neighbors for their kindly assistance in their bereavement.
