Mr. E. S. Pervier, well known in this city as the conductor on the Winterset branch, died last Thursday at Mineral Springs, Ill., with typhoid fever. Mr. Pervier was a young gentleman of noble impluse and refined taste; was considered by all who knew him to be whole-souled, upright in character, and a trusty and reliable employe of the R. R. company.

At the time of leaving Winterset Mr. Pervier was engaged to be married to a most estimable young lady, Miss Ella Hockett, now of Des Moines, but formerly of this place, and were married on Sunday previous to his death, at Mineral Springs.

The wife, now widow, of the deceased, has the sympathy of hosts of friends in this vicinity. The parents of the deceased reside at the place of his death, and the remains were there deposited.
