Mrs. Nannie Dabney, who departed this life on the 1st of September, was on the 2d interred in her last resting place, in the cemetery in Douglas township. Her remains were followed to the grave by a large number of mourners and friends, attesting the esteem in which she was held in the neighborhood. She leaves two daughters to mourn her loss, aged respectively four and two.
By her request Rev. J. E. Darby conducted the funeral discourse, from St. John 11-25. The deceased was born in March, 1819, in Bristol, Trumbull county, Ohio. In 1856 she came with her parents, Wm. H. and Nancy A. Bard, to this county. Was united in matrimony to O. P. Dabney, in September 1871.
"Tho' here we shall meet no more,
Yet there is a brighter shore,
Where, released from toil and pain,
There we all shall meet again."Note: The date of birth of March 1819 is her mother's birthdate.
