James Robert Anderson, 73, of Lorimor died February 9, 1999 of pneumonia at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services are today February 12, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset. Pastor Steve Koch will officiate the services and burial will follow at Lorimor Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 184 and V.F.W. Post 8142 of Winterset.

He was born August 23, 1925 in Roundup, Montana to James Ray and Illa Marie (Foreman) Anderson. He married Ruth Elsie Miller on May 22, 1949 in Winterset. He was a retired farmer and mechanic and was employed for Bussanmus in Winterset for many years. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He had lived in Montana and other parts of Iowa before settling on the family farm in 1946. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset.

He was preceded in death by his father, an infant brother and an infant sister.

Surviving relatives include his mother Marie Deardorff of Winterset; his wife; two sons, Jim Anderson and wife Kim of Monroe and Richard Anderson and wife Jami of Lorimor; one daughter Frances Brant and husband Bud of Osceola; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

James Robert Anderson, 73, of Lorimor died from complications of pneumonia Feb. 9, 1999 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Friday Feb. 12, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset with Pastor Steve Koch officiating. Burial was at Lorimor Cemetery, with graveside services performed by American Legion Post 184 and V.F.W. Post 8142 of Winterset.

Robert Anderson was born Aug. 23, 1925 to James Ray and Illa Marie (Foreman) Anderson of Roundup, Mont. He married Ruth Elsie Miller on May 22, 1949 in Winterset. He lived in Montana and other areas of Iowa before settling on the family farm after returning from World War II in 1946. Robert was a retired farmer and mechanic, having been employed as a mechanic for Bussanmas in Winterset for many years. A Navy veteran of World War II, he also was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset.

He was preceded in death by his father, one infant brother and one infant sister.

He is survived by his wife; his mother, Marie Deardorff of Winterset; two sons, Jim Anderson (wife Kim) of Monroe and Richard Anderson (wife Jami) of Lorimor; one daughter, Frances Brant (husband Bud) of Osceola; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
