Mrs. W. N. Williams Passed at Her Home There on June 4
Mrs. W. N. Williams, a resident of Madison and Union counties since childhood, died at her home north of Lorimor Friday, June 4 after an illness of several years. She was 90 years of age.
Mrs. Williams was the former Melissa Jane Skinner, daughter of Henry and Rebecca Skinner and was born Feb. 4, 1858 at Ottumwa. As a small child she came with her parents to Adel, where her early childhood was spent.
She was married April 21, 1886 at Afton to William S. Williams. They were the parents of eight sons, one of whom died in infancy.
Surviving are her husband; the seven sons, Guy and Everette Williams of Lorimor, Clifford Williams of Creston, Merrill Williams of Kansas City, Ben Williams of Oklahoma City and Billy an John Williams of Los Angeles; in addition to 30 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 7 from the Lorimor Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. Donald Bell. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
