ARTHUR JONES DIED SATURDAY

Arthur J. Jones, a resident of Madison county most of his life, died Saturday, Jan. 3, at Clarinda. He was 82 years of age.

Mr. Jones was born in Scott township Feb. 5, 1887, a son of Benjamin F. and Stella Harrell Jones. His active life was spent in farming, and in the insurance business. He had been retired in recent years.

He was married Jan. 14, 1909. His wife, Emma Florence Jones, died in 1965.

Surviving are four children, Glen H. Jones of Indianola, Robert E. Jones of Lebanon, Mo., Mrs. George Cummins of Ames, and Gene Jones of Elkhart. He also leaves 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and two brothers, Fred R. Jones of Winterset and Melvin H. Jones of Winterset.

Funeral services will be held this Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
