OBITUARY

Obit: Died at her home in Walnut Township, May 25th, 1906, Mrs. Mary Sutherland Reager, aged 78 years and 14 days. The deceased was born near Indianapolis, Indiana on May 21, 1828.

In 1840, with her parents, she came to Iowa, settling in Des Moines county, where she soon after lost both of her parents, but found a good home with a good Christian family.

On the 7th day of October 1852, at the home of Nathan Masters, she was united in marriage with Isaac Reager, her now bereaved husband. In October 1853, with her husband, she came to Madison County and soon after settled on the place where she resided until her death.

She leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband, 2 sons and 3 daughters, 2 brothers and a sister. She was the mother of 8 children, 2 dying in infancy and 1 in young womanhood. She fell sweetly asleep at 2:30 Friday, May 25th.

Her funeral was held from the M. E. Church at East Peru and her body was laid to rest in the East Peru cemetery.
