John Troub, one of the old settlers of Madison County, died at his home on Green Street of paralysis Tuesday, June 28, 1904, age 82 years. Funeral was held today at 10 o'clock from the St. Joseph Catholic church and the interment made in the Winterset cemetery.

Page 3Death of John Troub
John Troub died at his home on East Green street, Tuesday evening of paralysis, from which he has suffered for over a year. Mr. Troub was 82 years of age and an old resident of Madison county, having lived here about 35 years.
He leaves behind to mourn the loss of husband and father, a wife, two sons, George and Henry, and two daughters, Mesdames Orliff and Norman Lull, both of Valley Junction, and all of whom were present at the time of his death.
The funeral was held to-day (Thursday) at the Catholic church conducted by Father Albers, and the remains interred in the Rock City cemetery.
