Our townspeople were shocked Sunday morning to learn of the death of Miss Sarah Jane Hindman, as but few if any one, even knew of her illness. She was about her work up to Thursday, when she was taken with a stroke of paralysis from which she died Sunday.
She was about 70 years of age and had been a resident here the greater part of her life, being brought up on the farm where she died. She was a member of the United Brethren church and some years ago helped to organize the first society of the kind in Madison county.
Her funeral occurred Monday at 10 o’clock from the home, Rev. John H. Creger of the Christian church officiating and her body was laid to rest in Ebeneezer.
