After a painful illness of three years and a half from cancer of the breast, Mrs. S. G. Huffman found rest in the long sleep on Sunday morning, June 3, 1900. In all her suffering she was patient, kind and thoughtful of those who waited on her. She enjoyed company and took delight in talking over the events of the day with all who came. For a year she has been confined to the house, and to her room since near the holidays.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Ohio Baptist church, conducted by Rev. Lee, of Wick, a former pastor of this church. The remains were laid to rest in the family cemetery adjoining the church. The grave had been lined with white and trimmed with evergreens and flowers, and the ugly mound of yellow clay which always strikes terror to sorrowing hearts, was covered with green grass and evergreen. The deceased leaves a husband and three sons, an aged father and numerous relatives.
