Friday. June 8, 1900Two deaths occurred at Truro last week. On Saturday, Peter Gearhardt, died at a ripe old age. Mr. Gearhardt has lived in Ohio township for a good many years and was one of the oldest settlers of the county. His funeral was held on Sunday. ________________________

ruroPeter Gearhardt, an old and respected citizen of this community, died Saturday, June 2, 1900, at his home southeast of town, after a week’s suffering from paralysis. The funeral was held in the M.E. church Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Hall, his pastor, and the remains interred in the cemetery east of town.

Died, June 2nd, Peter Gearhart of paralysis, aged 71 years. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. J. C. Hall at the M.E. church June 3d, of which he has been a member for many years. His remains were laid to rest in the Young cemetery.
