JOHN ROBBINS, PATTERSON

John Edward “Uncle J.” Robbins, 58, of Patterson died Aug. 1, 2007, at his home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Church of the Nazarene. Burial was at North McDonald Cemetery, Jefferson Township, Madison County.

John Robbins was born March 2, 1949, to Rollie E. and Ruby (Newkirk) Robbins Sr. of Prole and was a 1968 graduate of Winterset High School. His marriage to Diane Hulbert took place May 25, 1972, at the Methodist Church in Winterset. During his career, John worked construction as a labor foreman in and around the Des Moines area. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Labors Union Local No. 177, Patterson Lions Club, Saddle Club and the local square dance club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Robbins; and one grandson, Dakota Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, of Patterson; two daughters, Jamie Thomas of Patterson and Christy Robbins of Winterset; a brother, Rollie Robbins Jr. of Des Moines; a sister, Marjorie “Marjie” Robbins of Patterson; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
