Dama G. Palmer Ostrander, 92, of Winterset died October 30, 2001 of complications of Alzheimer's Disease at Winterset Care Center South. Funeral services will be November 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Hertz Mansfield Funeral Home in Carson, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Wheeler Grove Cemetery.
She was born in Central City Township in Iowa to Platte and Lorene Mae Palmer and had lived in South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa. She worked for the Savery Hotel and had been a cook for Bekker's Drug Store and the Redspot.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Asa, one son, five brothers and three sisters.
Surviving relatives include one son, Russell C. Ostrander of Madrid, five daughters, Joyce Dodson of Van Meter, Nona Shaw, V. Jean Sloan and Lovola Ray, all of Des Moines, and Opal Rittenhouse of Tennessee, Illinois, 34 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and 39 great-great-grandchildren.
