Frances Martin, Winterset

Frances Aileen Martin, 90, of Winterset died of multiple organ system failure August 30, 2001 at Winterset Care Center South. Visitation will be Mon., Sept. 3 from noon-8 p.m. at Collins Oak Park Chapel and Funeral Services in Winterset. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Tues., Sept. 4 at 10:30 at Collins Oak Park Chapel. The Rev. Bill Branson will officiate the services and burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery.

She was born March 2, 1911 in Missouri to Fred and Nettie (Meyer) Murry. She married Gordon Martin in November of 1930 in Greenfield. She was a resident of Madison County since 1923 coming from Greene County, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. She was a graduate of Patterson High School and was a retired nurses aide at Earlham Health Care. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son; three brothers; and three sisters.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Philip Martin of New Hope, North Carolina, Richard Martin and companion Karen Martin of St. Charles and David Martin and wife Viola of Martensdale; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
