Ronald Bain died suddenly last Sunday morning at 10 a.m. He was buried on Monday at 2 p.m. by the Odd Fellows, Rev. Riheldaffer the officiating clergyman.

He was well advanced in age, and was a very early settler, having come to the county in 1845. Ten years ago, when at work in the court room, by the giving way of the scaffolding, he had a fall that injured his spine and rendered him a mental and physical wreck of his former self. He had always been a steady, industrious, worthy man.

Death of R. Bain.

Sunday morning about 10 o’clock occurred the death of R. Bain, one of Winterset’s oldest and most respected citizens. Mr. Bain was 68 years of age having been born in Scotland in the year 1830. He came to America in 1855 and to Winterset in 1856.

He fell from a scaffold while kalsomining the ceiling of the court room ten years ago last July and has been a helpless invalid ever since. His death was quiet and peaceful.

He was buried in the Rock City cemetery Monday afternoon, the services being conducted by the I.O.O.F. lodge of which he was an honored member.

He leaves behind a wife and two children, Miss Blanche and Master Roy to mourn his loss.
