Wednesday, August 4, 1897

Wm. Gray, the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Gray of this place, was killed by the cars at Pleasant Hill, Missouri last Monday. The remains were brought here for burial, arriving last night by way of Peru and the funeral was held this forenoon from the home of his father. A son of the deceased accompanied the remains from Missouri. He leaves a wife and several children.

The remains of William Gray, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Gray, of this city, were brought here yesterday by a son for burial. He was killed Monday at Pleasant Hill, Mo., by a railway train, a car of coal catching him while he was crossing the track. Deceased was a man of family forty years old and lived at Pleasant Hill. His aged parents have the sympathy of this entire community.
