Doris Mitchell McKee, 91, of San Jose, California, died February 19, 2001 of cardiac failure at Willow Glen Convalescent Center in San Jose. Cremation services will be Sun. April 8, at 2:30 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter. The family will be present at 2 p.m. to receive friends. Interment will be at Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in rural Orient in Adair County to Jud and Ida Walker. She was married to Cliff (Pat) Mitchell and later to Orlie McKee. She taught Sunday school and public school in rural Madison county in her early adult years and was a homemaker. She moved to California several years ago. She enjoyed letter writing and cooking which she gave to many neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Wendell Mitchell of West Des Moines and Dale Mitchell of San Jose, Calif.; one daughter, Patty Kiddoo of San Jose, Calif.; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
