The funeral of Mrs. Rev. John Graham will be held at the United Presbyterian church Friday morning at ten o'clock. Her husband Rev. Mr. Graham was pastor of the U. P. church in the early days. Mrs. Graham has been living at Quimby, Iowa with her son, Rev. J. D. Graham. Her death took place there Tuesday and the remains were brought to this city Thursday to the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Dan Miles.

Thursday, October 1, 1903Grandma Graham, a former resident of this county, died at her home at Quimby, Iowa on Tuesday. The remains were brought here today and the funeral services will be held from the United Presbyterian church tomorrow (Friday) at 10 o'clock. Mrs. Graham will be remembered by many of the older settlers of the county and particularly those living near Patterson. The deceased was a grandmother of Mrs. D.T. Miles of this city, Mrs. Albert Farris of Patterson, Mrs. N.S. Howell of Lee township, Mrs. D.W. Patterson of Scott township and Mr. Graham Bird of South township.

Page 1, Column 1Mrs. Mary Graham, mother of the Rev. J. D. Graham, of Quimby, died last Monday after a lingering illness. She was born in Roxburyshire, Scotland, Sept. 3, 1815; at the age of fourteen she came with her parents to this country and located in Washington county, N.Y., where, in 1834 she was married to rev. John Graham. They located in Winterset, Iowa, where Rev. Graham died in 1870. For the past four years she has made her home in Quimby with her son, Rev. J. D. Graham.
Mrs. Graham took an active part in church work and in the current events of the day. She was extremely well posted on the political movements, both of this and the old country. She possessed a genial, sunny disposition and notwithstanding the fact that for the last three years she was unable to walk, she was always cheerful and contented.
Her remains were taken to Winterset, Iowa for interment.
