WARREN NAIR IS FOUND DEAD

Search of Unoccupied House Reveals Body of Lincoln Township Resident

Warren Nair, a well-known resident of Lincoln township, was found dead in a deserted house near his farm home late Sunday afternoon.

Nair had been missing from his home since noon. His body was found about dusk in a closet in the unoccupied home of his father, the late Frank Nair, whose death occurred last spring.

The body was found by his brother-in-law Charles Berry who was one of a group searching for him. Nair had entered the closet, closed the door behind him, and opened a can of chemical which released a poison gas. Coroner Paul Eggleston estimated he had been dead at least four hours when the body was examined.

A search Sunday failed to disclose any farewell note. However he is known to have worried about his health.

Warren F. Nair was born May 14, 1904 at Carthage, Mo., a son of Frank and Anna Bingel Nair. He was brought to Madison county in infancy and spent the last 48 years of his life here.

He attended Winterset high school and Iowa State college at Ames. He was a successful farmer and active in the affairs of his community; he was a member of the Ord church and was affiliated with the Masonic and I.O.O.F. fraternal orders.

Mr. Nair was married March 22, 1935 in Des Moines to Miss Mary Welch of this community. They were the parents of a daughter, Nancy Lee Nair and a son John Warren Nair, both at home.

In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Aziel Rhodes of South Gate, Calif.

Funeral services were to be conducted this Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Earl Travis. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
