GEORGIA MCKINNEY DIED IN DES MOINES

Burial is at Winterset for Former Georgia Comp

Mrs. Leonard McKinney, a native of Madison county, died Saturday, April 3, at her home in Des Moines. She was 49 years of age.

Mrs. McKinney was the former Georgia R. Comp, daughter of Ira and Nellie Comp. She was born Aug. 31, 1904, at Monte Vista, Colo, but spent much of her early life in this community.

She attended Simpson college at Indianola for two years and Des Moines university for two years receiving her B. S. degree from that latter school. She was affiliated with Tau Phi Xi sorority.

After graduation she taught in the Runnells high school.

She had been a member of the Methodist church since early life. Her marriage to Leonald McKinney occurred June 15, 1930. They were parents of one son, Connie M. McKinney.

In addition to her husband and son, she leaves her mother, Mrs. Nellie Comp; one brother, Joe Comp of Winterset; and three sisters, Mrs. Savilla Moore of Mt. Ayr, Mrs. Earl Frey of St. Charles and Mrs. Glen Jones of Collins.

Funeral services were held Monday from Dunn's Funeral home in Des Moines. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery with graveside services here.
