FORMER RESIDENTS DIE

Hiram Moffitt At Livingston And Clara Sipple Smith At Lewiston, Montana

Older residents of the west part of Madison county will regret to hear of the death of two former residents of that vicinity.

Hiram W. Moffitt, died January 27th at his home in Livingston, Montana, at the age of 89. He leaves a wife, formerly Emma B. Garrett and three daughters. The Moffitts moved from this county to Livingston, Montana in 1888.

Clara Sipple Smith, wife of Elias Smith died on the 26th at a Lewiston, Montana hospital after a long illness. She was 62. The husband one son and a daughter survive the mother.

The old Sipple homestead in Jackson township is the farm now occupied by Lloyd Hoeness, eight miles west of Winterset. There were several children in the Sipple family and their home was the scene of many a pleasant gathering of Jackson township young people.

John the oldest son, died in recent years, Joe and Margaret live at Oakland, California, Nora (Mrs. Clark Elder) lives at Tacoma, Washington; Emma, (Mrs. McGinnis) at Lewiston, Montana; Margaret (Mrs. O’Connor) resides at San Francisco.
